Ramsgate Community Cinema
Kent Film Foundation are managing the new Ramsgate Community Cinema, set up entirely by resident/volunteers who would like to see a cinema in the town. The project is over seen by the management team, the professional youth film mentors and trustees of the foundation, many of whom are professional filmmakers, exhibitors and distributors. We have a passion for film and hope to bring some old titles to a new generation.
The foundation is a charity and runs FREE youth film workshops for young people in an area of very high deprivation. All of our youth film mentors are professional filmmakers who come from very humble beginnings and are passionate about using film to help young people gain confidence, work collaboratively with peers in a safe space to be creative, particularly young girls and LGBT youth but all young people are welcome. Youth Film Clubs run on Monday evenings (6pm-8pm) in term time in the Ramsgate Community Cinema. We also run a FREE wildlife/nature cinematographers workshop too on Mondays.
