Purnima, a passionate Kathak artist, embarked on her artistic journey under the tutelage of the renowned Gurus, Nandini Singh and Malti Shyam, specialising in the distinctive 'Jaipur Gharaana' style. Purnima's dedication to Kathak goes beyond her academic pursuits, as she has continued her studies in Kathak alongside her academic endeavours. Over the past decade, she has sought guidance and inspiration from esteemed Kathak artists in India, further enriching her understanding and mastery of this classical dance form.

Purnima's academic excellence is underscored by her achievement as the university topper for three consecutive years during her pursuit of a Diploma in Kathak from the prestigious National Institute of India - Kathak Kendra. Her commitment to the art form has not only earned her academic accolades but also numerous opportunities to showcase her talent on stage. Purnima has graced the stages of Delhi, India, and Auckland, New Zealand, captivating audiences with her expressive and mesmerizing performances.

At a young age, Purnima made the conscious decision to give back to her art form by assisting her Guru in teaching Kathak. This early teaching experience laid the foundation for her current endeavor – the establishment of her own dance school in Auckland, New Zealand. Collaborating with Basant Madhur, Purnima's dance school specializes in the Jaipur Gharana, showcasing her commitment to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Kathak in New Zealand.
