Storytelling during an interview – A focus on soft skills
Objectives:
- To provide recommendations on how to showcase yourself and your career effectively during an interview with an HR professional, with a particular focus on soft skills.
- To review what soft skills are, understand their importance in evaluations, and explore how they are assessed
- To introduce the STAR method and practice its application in a small group.
- To receive feedback from both participants and Catherine Lefebvre on chosen examples to demonstrate specific soft skills using the STAR method.
- To discuss interview best practices more broadly, including dos and don’ts related to both content and non-verbal communication.
- We will practice the STAR method to demonstrate soft skills. We would like each of you to select one soft skill and to prepare a specific example which demonstrates this skill, using the STAR method. During this session we aim to share some, ideally all, of these examples and provide feedback.
