Join founding Trustee and former BBC broadcaster Nicholas Witchell to learn how the British Normandy Memorial was built.

The story began in 2014 when a D-Day Veteran called George Batts met Nicholas Witchell and told him that there wasn't a memorial that commemorated all of the British soldiers who died during the Battle of Normandy. The story ends with a 50 acre site where the names of all 22,442 men and women who lost their lives under British command in Normandy are remembered.

Come and discover the fascinating story of how the Memorial came into being.

The ticket includes a tea/coffee and a pastry.

The British Normandy Memorial was opened on 6th June 2021 and commemorates the 22,442 men and women who died under British command on D-Day and throughout the Battle of Normandy. The site also includes the Winston Churchill Centre, consisting of two galleries, and education space and a cafe and boutique.

We host events throughout the year to commemorate and celebrate those who died for our freedom and ensure that their memories live on.
