La Fondation FARM organise sa 15ᵉ Conférence internationale intitulée « Repenser la protection des cultures : agir collectivement pour le vivant », le mardi 17 février 2026 à la Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris.

Consacrée à la protection durable des cultures, cette édition réunira producteurs, chercheurs, décideurs, entreprises et acteurs de la société civile pour débattre des solutions et des trajectoires possibles afin de préserver la biodiversité des territoires ruraux et agir collectivement pour une agriculture plus résiliente et équitable.

Temps fort de la journée, la remise du Prix FARM 2026 distinguera un·e chercheur·se des pays du Sud dont les travaux appliqués contribuent directement au développement agricole durable et à la sécurité alimentaire.

Programme :

• 10H – 10H30 | Ouverture

La Conférence sera inaugurée par la Fondation FARM aux côtés de représentants institutionnels du Nord et du Sud.

Scientifiques internationaux, producteurs et experts agricoles reconnus prendront ensuite la parole pour poser les enjeux.

• 10h30 – 12H |Séquence 1 - Repenser les systèmes de protection des cultures

Cette première séquence analysera l’évolution des pratiques de protection des cultures à l’échelle internationale. Elle mettra en lumière les tensions entre production agricole, préservation de l’environnement et santé humaine, et proposera une lecture critique des modèles existants afin d’identifier des voies de transition vers des pratiques plus durables.

• 12H – 12H30 | Remise du Prix de la Fondation FARM à un chercheur du sud engagé dans la recherche / action
• 12H30 – 14H30 | Cocktail déjeunatoire
• 14H30 – 16H10 | Séquence 2 - De la formation à l’organisation des filières : accompagner pour partager le risque dans la protection des cultures

La deuxième séquence présentera les initiatives qui accompagnent la transition vers des pratiques de protection des cultures plus responsables. Elle rappellera que le risque ne peut reposer uniquement sur les agriculteurs : l’ensemble des acteurs des filières doit être mobilisé. Elle interrogera également les dispositifs de formation, en soulignant qu’ils doivent concerner non seulement les producteurs mais aussi les coopératives, distributeurs et transformateurs.

• 16H10 – 17H40 | Séquence 3 - Soutenir les producteurs et passer à l’échelle : incitations, gouvernance et partage des responsabilités

La troisième séquence mettra en avant le rôle des politiques publiques et des cadres réglementaires dans l’accompagnement des producteurs. Elle questionnera l’équilibre entre incitations, contraintes et responsabilités partagées, et montrera comment la gouvernance peut devenir un moteur de changement lorsqu’elle s’articule avec des mesures adaptées et une vision commune de la transition.

• 17H40 – 18H | Conclusion

La journée se conclura par une synthèse des échanges, en présence de représentants internationaux issus des institutions publiques, de la société civile, des centres de recherche et du monde agricole.

The FARM Foundation is organizing its 15th International Conference entitled “Rethinking Crop Protection: Collective Paths Toward Sustainability” on Tuesday, 17 February 2026 at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris.

Dedicated to sustainable crop protection, this edition will bring together producers, researchers, policymakers, businesses, and civil society actors to debate solutions and possible pathways to safeguard the biodiversity of rural territories and to act collectively for a more resilient and equitable agriculture.

A highlight of the day will be the awarding of the FARM Prize 2026 to a researcher from the Global South whose applied work directly contributes to sustainable agricultural development and food security.

Program:

• 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. | Opening

The Conference will be inaugurated by the FARM Foundation alongside institutional representatives from both the Global North and South. International scientists, producers, and recognized agricultural experts will then take the floor to set out the key issues.

• 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Session 1 – Rethinking Crop Protection Systems

This first session will analyze the evolution of crop protection practices at the international level. It will highlight the tensions between agricultural production, environmental preservation, and human health, and will offer a critical reading of existing models in order to identify pathways for transition towards more sustainable practices.

• 12:00 – 12:30 p.m. | Presentation of the FARM Foundation Prize to a researcher from the Global South engaged in research/action
• 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. | Cocktail lunch
• 2:30 – 4:10 p.m. | Session 2 – From Training to Value Chain Organization: Supporting Shared Risk in Crop Protection

The second session will showcase initiatives that support the transition towards more responsible crop protection practices. It will emphasize that risk cannot rest solely on farmers: all actors in the value chains must be mobilized. It will also examine training systems, stressing that they must involve not only producers but also cooperatives, distributors, and processors.

• 4:10 – 5:40 p.m. | Session 3 – Supporting Producers and Scaling Up: Incentives, Governance, and Shared Responsibilities

The third session will highlight the role of public policies and regulatory frameworks in supporting producers. It will question the balance between incentives, constraints, and shared responsibilities, and will show how governance can become a driver of change when aligned with appropriate measures and a shared vision of transition.

• 5 :40 – 6 p.m. |Conclusion

The day will conclude with a synthesis of the discussions, in the presence of international representatives from public institutions, civil society, research centers, and the agricultural sector.
