La fabrication de tapis en chiffon est un artisanat traditionnel qui permet de créer de magnifiques tapis à partir de chiffons. Venez apprendre à fabriquer un paillasson en chiffon. Apprenez les techniques du crochet et du proddy et rencontrez des personnes partageant les mêmes idées. Transformez de vieux t-shirts en œuvres d'art recyclées. Lors de cet atelier, vous aurez l'occasion de commencer un paillasson tout en apprenant les techniques. Pendant la séance, vous commencerez votre paillasson. Compte tenu du temps limité, il est peu probable que vous terminiez le projet, mais vous repartirez avec les connaissances et les compétences nécessaires pour le terminer à votre rythme.

Aucune expérience n'est requise.
Tout le matériel nécessaire vous sera fourni pendant l'atelier, mais comme le charme de la fabrication de tapis en chiffon réside souvent dans les souvenirs liés aux vieux vêtements, vous êtes invités à apporter vos vieux vêtements que vous souhaitez utiliser. Vous devrez peut-être utiliser vos propres tissus une fois de retour à la maison pour terminer le projet.

Rag rugging is a traditional craft creating beautiful rugs out of rags. Come and learn how to make a rag rug door mat. Learn the techniques of proddy and hooking and meet a like minded group of people. Turn old t-shirts into recycled works of art. In this workshop you will have the chance to start a door mat while learning the techniques. During the session you will start your door mat. Due to the time limitations you are unlikely to complete the project but you will leave with the knowledge and skills to finish at your leisure.
You will learn:
- How to use the equipment
- How to work with hessian (Burlap)
- Materials (selecting and preparing)
- How to design a rag rug door mat
- Both rag rugging techniques (loopy and shaggy)
No experience is necessary.
You will be provided with all the materials you will need during the workshop but as the charm of rag rugging is often in the memories attached to old clothes. You are welcome to bring along any of your old clothing you would like to incorporate. You may need to utilise your own fabrics once back home to finish the project.
Hot drinks will be provided during the session.
