Dr. Caterina MINELLI (Science Area Leader NPL / UK) will present a webinar entitled "Methods you can count on: A journey into the standardisation of nanoparticle concentration measurements".
The advancement of analytical methods for nanoparticle measurements is critical for delivering enhanced products of industrial and societal value.
The measurement of nanoparticle number concentration in a liquid directly impacts the ability to assess the scale and reproducibility of the production process, it allows optimisation of efficiency and supports regulatory compliance. Until recently, the lack of traceable methods and suitable reference materials was a major bottleneck in validating laboratory methods and progressing their standardisation. I will illustrate the work we led through European Metrology Partnership Programmes, international inter-laboratory comparisons and development of ISO documentary standards to deliver a robust metrology framework for the measurement of nanoparticle number concentration. I will discuss current efforts and future challenges.
Through this work, users can adopt with confidence available measurement capability and enable the technological advancement of high-value products.
