The location is a unique space on Île de la Cité, inside a private hôtel particulier dating back to the medieval period, one of the few such homes that survived Haussmann’s major urban transformations. Originally owned by the canons of Notre-Dame, the building has been quietly preserved over the centuries. Not open to visitors and entirely absent from tourist routes, this historic residence offers access only through personal invitation - a rare opportunity to enter one of Paris’s oldest surviving private interiors.

The Guided Tour

A brief guided walk through the historic streets surrounding Notre-Dame

Before entering the medieval private residence on Île de la Cité, guests will be guided through the ancient streets surrounding Notre-Dame such as Rue Chanoinesse, once home to the chanoines (canons of the cathedral), and Rue des Chantres, named after the cathedral’s chantres (its medieval choir singers). This brief walk will offer context, stories, and a sense of place, preparing guests to step into the private setting that will host the experience.
