Hazel's Art
Mixed and multi media artist and photography. Ecoprinting, botanical inks , natural dyeing, geli printing, sublimation ( heat transfer ) printing, collage, textiles. Art journalling , junk journals and handmade notebooks. Experimental and eclectic.
Lots of abstract. Inks, acrylics, chalk and oil pastels, sometimes all in the same piece. Drawn to abstract botanicals and landscapes.
Work with children can include all of above plus 3D junk models, upcycling and natural materials. Try to use recycled, reclaimed and scavenged materials whenever possible. Lots of doodling and map making.
Have practiced and taught art in some form for many years since the early 1990s . Had a decade of doing virtually nothing artistic then got started again in 2015 mostly purely for myself. Started sharing art again a few years back in community settings. Artist in residence Hatfield Library Autumn /Winter 2023. Motivated by beneficial effects of art and the outdoors for physical and mental wellbeing. Inspired by the natural world and stories. Forever curious, always thinking.... I wonder what will happen if I do that?
