Event description

Description

The Federative Structure for Infectious, Inflammatory and Immune diseases (SF3i) is organizing a Symposium on "Innovative Models in Immunity and Infection".
The symposium will take place on september 27th, 2017 at the Institut Pasteur de Lille.
The symposium should generate cutting-edge knowledge on novel models that are developed to study infection and immunity. The objective is to present ground-breaking research of the field, including experimental infection and/or immune monitoring in humans, non-human primates, transgenic mice, humanized mouse models, drosophila, zebrafish, 3D primary cell culture models, and plants.

Confirmed speakers

  • Frédéric ALTARE, Institut de Recherche en Santé, Nantes, France - An in vitro human model to decipher granulomatous reactions in both inflammatory and infectious conditions
  • Thomas BOLLER, Univ Basel, Switzerland - Plant Immunity
  • Christopher CHIU, Imperial College London, United Kingdom - Pathogenesis and protective immunity in experimental human infection with influenza and respiratory syncitial virus
  • James DI SANTO, Institut Pasteur, Paris, France - Dissecting Human Infectious Diseases: One Mouse at a Time
  • Pedro HERNANDEZ-CERDA, Institut Pasteur, Paris, France - Innate lymphoid cells and interleukin-22: functional analysis in zebrafish
  • Sebastien JOHNSTON, London, NHLI, United Kingdom - Rhinovirus infection in asthmatic patients
  • Roger LE GRAND, CEA, Fontenay-aux-Roses, France - Non-human primate
  • Bruno LEMAITRE, EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland - The fly contribution to understanding host adaptation to microbes
  • Dario VALENZANO, Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing, Cologne, Germany - Life span extension by the gut microbiota in a short-lived vertebrate
