Synopsis EN

Café owner Nin’s (Sean Lau) mundane but contented life is shattered forever when his fifteen-year-old son Ming (Dylan So) slashes his mother Yin (Jo Koo) and younger sister Grace (Lainey Hung) to death one evening. Diagnosed with acute schizophrenia, Ming is remanded to a psychiatric prison indefinitely until full recovery. Aside from visiting his son twice a month, Nin continues to lead a pedestrian existence, while memories of his wife, daughter, and son keep flooding into his head. As time passes, Nin has given up on knowing the reason behind the misfortune. He only wishes that one fine day, Ming, his sole remaining family but also the murderer of his family, will come home again.

La vie simple mais paisible de Nin (Sean Lau), propriétaire d’un café, bascule à jamais lorsque son fils de quinze ans, Ming (Dylan So), tue sa mère Yin (Jo Koo) et sa petite sœur Grace (Lainey Hung) à coups de couperet un soir. Diagnostiqué de schizophrénie aiguë, Ming est interné dans un hôpital psychiatrique pénitentiaire pour une durée indéterminée, jusqu’à guérison complète. En dehors de ses visites bimensuelles à son fils, Nin poursuit une existence monotone, hanté par les souvenirs de sa femme, de sa fille et de son fils. Avec le temps, il a renoncé à comprendre les raisons de ce drame. Son seul souhait désormais est que, peut-être un jour, Ming — son unique famille encore en vie, mais aussi l’assassin des siens — puisse rentrer à la maison.

劇情簡介

茶餐廳老闆阮永年（劉青雲 飾）普通而安穩的日子，在某個夜晚被徹底擊碎：十五歲的兒子厚明（蘇文濤 飾）殘忍殺害了母親金燕（谷祖琳 飾）和妹妹厚恩（熊諾頤 飾）。厚明被診斷患有急性精神分裂症，被無限期關押在精神病監獄，直至康復。除了每月兩次的探訪，永年依舊過著平淡的生活，但妻子、女兒和兒子的記憶不斷湧入腦海。隨著時間流逝，永年不再追問這場不幸的緣由，他唯一的願望，是有一天厚明——這個既是家中唯一的親人，也是毀滅家庭的兇手——能夠重新回到家裡。

Dylan SO, the Best New Performer award at the 43rd Hong Kong Film Awards for his leading role in the 2024 Hong Kong film Papa (2024). He was 16 years old at the time and had no prior acting experience before taking on the role, delivering a remarkable performance that earned him the accolade.
