Event description
Come & join the FIRE's project 1st interactive event on socially including refugees, asylum-seekers and migrants through football!

About this Event

This event is co-organised with Scottish Football Association.

We want to contribute to fostering intercultural openness in local football clubs and bodies, across Europe, and further seek to empower, enable and support local football organisations to work with refugees and asylum-seekers through sport, and football.

This interactive event is open to anyone from coaches, trainers, representative of sport and public bodies, local clubs and NGOs, students, practitioners, activists, researchers, and professionals working with the target group on a regular basis such as social workers or reception centres.

This is an opportunity for participants to network and learn by sharing experiences, know-how and setbacks encountered upon elaborating and implementing initiatives that seek to include refugees, migrants and asylum-seekers through football.

The FIRE project strives to promote football as a medium of social inclusion, participation, socialisation and access to sport for asylum-seekers, refugees and migrants. Financed by the Erasmus + programme, FIRE’s main objective is to support grassroots football organisations and foster cross-sector partnerships between all involved sectors by creating a network for mutually enriching participants. FIRE will be creating a freely accessible MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) specifically elaborated for grassroots football clubs and organisations who seek some support and guidance to implement an initiative, or programme, which strives to include refugees, migrants and asylum-seekers!
