July 2024 marks the most anticipated event of the year: The Summer Olympics!

We are thrilled to welcome athletes from all over the world to celebrate the values of sportsmanship. But let’s not forget what makes this event extra special: it is held in our beloved city of lights, Paris. In the lead up to the opening ceremony of the 26th of July, the city council has created an entire cultural program called Cultural Olympiads. These events showcase France's culture, heritage, and artistic achievements. Our event specifically focuses on the intersection of Fashion & Sports within this rich cultural context.

IFA Paris is thrilled to announce that it was selected by the council to be officially part of the Cultural Olympiads Calendar! We would like to invite all of you to participate to a two-day event (8th and 9th of June) called “The Marathon of Sustainable Fashion”. Celebrating the school’s commitment to sustainability, diversity and inclusivity, the marathon will be packed with activities that will allow you to discover the evolution of fashion and sportswear.

The main event is structured around a 42-hour fashion challenge, akin to what you could find in Project Runway. IFA Paris students will spend their week-end upcycling deadstocks in order to craft new sportswear sustainable looks. The marathon will culminate in a grand finale with a fashion show held on June 9th at the prestigious Hotel Particulier Mona Bismarck in Paris. This private residence was named after an American socialite and style icon known for her impeccable fashion sense and philanthropic endeavors. It is located right next to Palais de Tokyo, a favourite venue for Fashion Week, and boasts uninterrupted views over the Eiffel Tower where the Summer Olympics opening ceremony will debut !

In addition to the marathon, there will be fashion exhibitions from IFA Paris Students, a Showroom with the brands created by our alumni, roundtables with fashion professionals, VR discovery workshops, free sneakers renovation ateliers, and much more !

Event Line-Up:

Friday, 7th:

Onboarding Visio at 8:00 PM: A session designed to welcome participants and provide an overview of the event.

Saturday, 8th:

Marathon of Sustainable Fashion from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM: A full-day event focused on sustainable fashion, featuring workshops, discussions, and activities highlighting the importance of eco-friendly practices in the fashion industry.
Talks at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM: Engaging presentations on fashion, sustainability, innovation, or industry trends.
Expo from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM: An exhibition showcasing sustainable fashion brands, products, initiatives, and technologies, providing participants with insights and networking opportunities.
Sneakers Renovation Workshop from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM: A hands-on workshop where participants learn how to renovate and upcycle sneakers using sustainable techniques and materials.
Oculus Workshop from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM: An interactive workshop exploring the intersection of fashion and virtual reality (VR) technology.

Sunday, 9th:

Talks at 11:00 AM: Another informative session featuring a speaker or panel discussing relevant topics in the fashion and sustainability space.
Expo from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM: Continuation of the exhibition, allowing participants to explore more sustainable fashion offerings and initiatives.
Fashion Show at 5:00 PM: The highlight of the event, showcasing upcycled and sustainable fashion creations by participants of the Sustainable Fashion Marathon.
Cocktail: A networking and socializing session following the fashion show
