Let's Speak French

Conversations, new connections and French language games

Are you learning French and looking for a relaxed, friendly and supportive place to practise speaking?

Join us for a small French conversation group at Parc de la Planchette in Levallois-Perret.

This event is not a traditional French class. It is an opportunity to speak, listen, meet new people and improve your spoken French naturally.

The group will be limited to a maximum of 8 participants (Women only), so that everyone has enough time to speak.

How will the event work?

Participants will first be divided into pairs.

Each pair will have approximately 10 minutes to talk. You will be able to speak freely or choose a conversation topic from an envelope.

The envelopes will contain different conversation ideas, such as travel, food, hobbies, traditions, memories, life in France, future plans and cultural differences.

At the end of each conversation, we will come back together as a group.

Each participant will briefly introduce the person they have just spoken to and explain what they learned about them.

For example:

“I spoke with Julia. She has lived in France for two years. We talked about food, and she told me that she enjoyed making Chinese dumplings.”

This activity will help you speak about yourself in the present tense and then describe your conversation using the past tense.

I will help you rephrase some sentences, correct a few mistakes and discover more natural ways of expressing yourself in French. Corrections will always be made kindly and will help the whole group improve.

After each conversation, participants will change partners. New pairs may be chosen at random or organised directly during the event.

A creative game to finish

At the end of the event, we will form a circle and create a sentence or a short story together.

The first person will say one word. The next person will add another word, and so on.

For example:

“Je / suis / une / femme / mystérieuse / qui / habite / dans / un / château…”

This game will help participants practise sentence structure, vocabulary, listening skills and creativity while having fun.

Who is this event for?

This event is designed for people from other countries who are learning French and would like to:

• speak French more easily;
• gain confidence;
• improve their vocabulary;
• meet new people;
• practise in a relaxed atmosphere;
• learn through conversation and group corrections.

Participants should be able to understand a simple conversation and express themselves a little in French.

Mistakes are welcome: they are part of the learning process.
