Thursday, May 28  •  7:30 PM - 9 PM
Overview

Join Villa Albertine and the actress Nil Bosca for the show Euphrate at La Maison Française.

Program :

Villa Albertine is pleased to welcome acclaimed solo performance Euphrate, written by Stanislas Roquette and interpreted by Nil Bosca. For this special and unique performance, Nil Bosca will take the stage, offering a sparkling show, where dance and theater meets.

Synopsis:

Daughter of a Turkish father and a Norman mother, Euphrate is a high school senior struggling with the education system. On top of her mediocre grades, she is soon expected to choose a career path, a real headache. This leads her to wonder how her dual heritage has shaped her identity. In a witty and humorous dialogue with her father, she embarks on a journey through her Turkish roots and childhood memories. Blending dance and spoken word, the show tells - with the freedom of a joyful body - the story of a young woman finding and affirming her own voice.

About Nil Bosca

After earning a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Nil Bosca turned to theatre and joined the Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, followed by the École du Jeu. At the same time, she taught herself dance, later working with Jann Gallois and Chrystel Calvet in contemporary dance, as well as with several hip-hop dancers at Porte de Pantin and Le 104.

In addition, she wrote and performs Euphrate, a solo show about her Turkish heritage, co-directed with the support of Stanislas Roquette and Olivier Constant, and produced by the company Artépo. Euphrate is currently touring in France and internationally (with the support of Villa Albertine and the Institut Français). Nil Bosca is represented by Elisabeth Tanner at Time Art Agency.

About Stanislas Roquette

Actor, writer, and director, Stanislas Roquette has developed a strong taste for poetry through a physical commitment on stage, somewhere between theatre and dance, while never giving up its popular and communicative nature.

Since 2018, he has been a companion artist at the Maison de la Culture d’Amiens and an associate artist at the Maison des Arts du Léman (Thonon-les-Bains/Évian). In 2019, he created with his company ARTÉPO Nous sommes un poème, a participatory and mobile poetry recital. In 2021, he created the autobiographically inspired solo performance Insuline & Magnolia.
