Earth Bodies: Somatics & Dance sessions

Overview

Earth bodies is a cycle of guided somatic and dance sessions, Wednesday evenings by Canal St Martin

Earth Bodies

→ Book a session or the cycle here through billetweb.

A 4-week exploration of our emotional landscapes through a guided somatic and dance practice, inspired by the biomes of nature.

Come to one session, or all four. We begin Wednesday September 16th.

Somatics is a body awareness practice. Through breath and soft attention, we notice our inner sensations. Dance is intuitive, it's any movement that arises.

Connecting to nature enlivens our body, awakening our instinct and emotions. The practice is to be with. Without over-identifying, or minimizing our emotions, we allow ourselves to feel, in touch with the stable ground within and beneath us.

The four sessions

Each session moves through a biome, anchors in a part of the physical body, and explores an emotional language that is yours to experience.

  • 16.09 — desert / bones / trust
  • 23.09 — savanna / muscles / anger
  • 30.09 — rainforest / skin / desire
  • 07.10 — mountain / heart & mind / awe

A guided space to feel and move with your inner world, together.

The space

We'll practice in Canalcentral Studio, a beautiful 100m² room, a short walk from the canal St Martin. It's a warm, quiet space to land in.
