Overview

Movement workshops to connect to our unique agency through somatics & dance in Paris

Body Agency is a series of somatics & dance workshops that explore the themes of personal power and resilience.

In this edition, we explore the theme of transformation: the natural wave of change that disrupts and renews our sense of agency and perceptions.

This workshop is an opportunity to dance together and remind one another of the beauty between differences, and the true possibility for respectful, creative co-existence.

Somatics and dance

Somatics is a practice that ground us into our body and earth through breath and movement awareness. Dance gives space for feeling, and through this feeling an inner place of freedom may open. From this opening, we may find a way to our unique agency: a felt sense of choice and action.

Note : you do not need to be a dancer or "dance well" to participate in these workshops. An openness and curiosity to movement is enough to make the most of it!

General guidelines:

We seek to co-create a shared space that lets go of judgment, towards our self, and others, so we can explore this theme of agency with sensitivity and curiosity.

Presence, respect, and compassion are values that guide our relationship to one another in this space.

During the dance session, we follow the guidelines of:

  • physical safety: moving and dancing in a way that doesn't hurt our body and being mindful of others
  • nonjudgment & kindness: we explore from a place of curiosity and support
  • compassionate witnessing: we witness ourself and others in movement with soft eyes
