Abstract:

The regulation of minimum wages is a key issue at the intersection of European and national labour law. This conference brings together experts to reflect on current challenges and future developments. The first session will explore different policy approaches to minimum wages and their social and economic impact. The second session will focus on the EU Directive on adequate minimum wages, raising the central question of competences between the Union and the Member States. The third session will present insights from selected national experiences, offering a comparative glance on implementation and reform. Finally, the closing session will look ahead to the future of EU social policy and examine the role of social partners in shaping labour standards across the EU.
