METAVISION Industrial Workshop

From Research to Application in Acoustic Metamaterials

This industrial workshop will take place on 2 April 2026 in Le Mans, France, as part of the METAVISION European Doctoral Network.

The consortium is bringing together academic institutions, research centers, and industrial partners working on the development, characterization, and transfer of acoustic and vibratory metamaterials, from fundamental concepts to real-world applications.

This one-day industrial workshop is conceived as a key moment of exchange between academia and industry, with a strong focus on implementation, scalability, and validation of metamaterial-based solutions.

The program will combine short technical presentations, industrial feedback, and a poster session, encouraging direct discussions with doctoral candidates and experts from the field.

The workshop will be structured around four thematic sessions:

Session 1 – Additive Manufacturing and Acoustic Metamaterials

Session 2 – From Unit Cell to Application: Scaling Up and Industrialization

Session 3 – Societal and Industrial Impact

Session 4 – Measurement, Uncertainties and Experimental Validation

📍 Getting to the venue

The Metavision Industrial Workshop will be held at Le Mans Innovation. Here is all the information you need to reach it easily:

🏠 Address & Entrance

• Address: 57 Boulevard Demorieux, 72100 Le Mans, France.
• Floor: Metavision Workshop will take place on the 2nd Floor (2ème étage).
• Access: Please follow the signs for "Workshop Metavision" upon entering the building. Elevators and stairs are available in the main lobby.

🚆 By Train (TGV)

• The venue is a 10-minute walk from the Le Mans Railway Station (Gare du Mans).
• Exit the station through the "Sortie Sud" (South Exit) and head towards the river/Boulevard Demorieux.

🚋 By Public Transport (Tram/Bus)

• Tramway: Take Line T1 or T2 and get off at the "Gares" stop.
• Bus: Several lines serve the area. Check theSetram website for real-time schedules.

🚗 By Car & Parking

• Paid Parking: The closest parking is the Parking Gare du Mans (South side).
• Free Parking: You can find free parking spots between "rue des sables d'or" and "rue d'Australie", located just a short walk from the entrance.

🍴 Food & Drinks

• Lunch (12:30 PM): A buffet will be served on-site. We have selected a variety of options to accommodate different dietary requirements (vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.).
• Dinner (7:00 PM): For those who wish to extend the networking evening, we will meet at Restaurant Liberta (To be confirmed) located Place de la Visitation, in the city center. Please note: Dinner is optional and at each participant's own expense.
