Art & Creative Play for Ages 2–3

A playful creative workshop for little artists aged 2–3 and their grown-ups in English!

Age: 2–3 years
Duration: 40–60 minutes
Format: 1 child + 1 adult

Included: All art materials + 1 drink of your choice for the accompanying adult

Before children learn to write letters and words, they first discover the joy of making marks: lines, circles, dots, swirls, scribbles and shapes.

In this parent-and-child art session, we’ll explore all of these early creative experiences through play, colour, movement and sensory art.

There is no right or wrong way to create. Your child doesn’t need to know how to draw, follow a pattern or write their name. Give them the freedom to experiment, discover and express themselves in their own way.

What will we do?

Together, we’ll:

🎨 explore different colours and textures
✋ paint with fingers, hands and simple tools
〰️ experiment with lines, circles, waves and shapes
✨ turn simple marks into little works of art
🖍️ try different ways of drawing, tracing and creating
📖 explore the connection between pictures, words and symbols
💛 enjoy special, screen-free creative time together

The activities are designed especially for toddlers: short, playful and open-ended, with plenty of opportunity for children to explore at their own pace.

Why are scribbles so important?

Those first scribbles are much more than just scribbles!

When children draw, paint and make marks, they are developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration and control of movement. These are all important foundations for later writing.

But most importantly, they are learning that their ideas can become visible.

A line doesn't have to be perfect. A circle doesn't have to be round. A scribble doesn't have to “look like” anything.

At this age, the process is the art.

A little reminder for parents

This is not a class where children are expected to sit still or produce a perfect artwork.

Come ready to get messy, follow your child's lead and enjoy creating together. You might be surprised by how much fun a simple piece of paper, some paint and a pair of little hands can create!

Please wear clothes that can handle a little paint and creativity! 🎨 We’ll also provide protective aprons for the little ones.

Limited spaces available to keep the group small and relaxed.
