Tanner Laws
Tanner Laws is a singer/songwriter from Thompson Falls, MT who specializes in Traditional Country Music. Tanner learned to play guitar while attending college at Montana tech by watching YouTube videos in his college dorm room. He began writing songs and performing in bars around Butte in 2019 and quickly fell in love with writing and performing. Tanner graduated with a Civil Engineering degree and moved to Missoula where he would work his engineering job during the day, and write/record original songs in the evening and perform on weekends around Montana. In 2021, Tanner quit his engineering job to pursue music full time.
Since then, he has won awards like Northwest CMA Songwriter of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and 2024 Missoula's Best New Band. He has recorded his first 2 albums in Montana titled "Montana Livin'" and "LAWS." Tanner has opened for Clint Black, Rodkey Atkins, Dustin Lynch, Sam Barber, Corey Kent, Randall King, Braxton Keith, Mitchell Tenpenny, Colby Acuff, and more. Tanner now has a full band and they are headlining venues all over Montana as well as Idaho, Colorado, and Texas so far. They opened for Gary Allan at Miles City Bucking Horse Sale and also opened for Clint Black at the Dillon Labor Day Weekend Concert.
Tanner took a big step in 2025 by recording his new songs in Nashville with “some of the best musicians in the world, not just Nashville.” He says these songs capture the country sound he loves most and are influenced by artists like Keith Whitley, Brad Paisley, Chris LeDoux, Cody Johnson, and Merle Haggard. The first 3 singles from that album are out now:
