East London Research School
We are the Research School for East London.
The foundations of our approach are trust and collaboration. We are focused on using evidence is to improve the life chances of children and young people in East London, and beyond.
Our team developed Manor Park Talks, the EEF-funded programme to improve children’s early communication. This has grown into The Early Years Conversation Project. The EYCP was designed and developed by the East London Research School (ELRS), and aims to improve children’s communication and language skills.
We are currently working on a major new programme focused on helping young children to learn about maths through picture books, with the support of the London North East Maths Hub.
We are working with the charity PEEPLE to create a new programme to support children’s early learning in STEM.
We have presented our research at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. We are proud of the academic credibility of our work, and also its practical application. We are making a real difference to the children and young people we work with.
We have a team of Evidence Leads in Education, based in both London and Essex, to deliver programmes and offer bespoke support to schools.
