About this event

  • 5 days 18 hours

This is an invitation to connect with the wilderness beauty that resides in you. During this Yoga intensive, we will dis-connect to connect. And dive deeper to meet the best part of yourself. This part, which you have always intuitively known exists. Through the different Yoga Practices, like Asanas, Pranayama, Meditation and Chanting we will unfold the superficial layers, and you will have access to this deeper part of yourself. This transformational and fundamental Yoga Intensive is for all yoga styles and all levels of practitioners, as well as for Yoga teachers. Everyone will learn at their own pace and on their own level of understanding of the Practice of Yoga at this moment. We can practice individually in a collective container of love and kindness. Helping and cooperating with each other. This is an intensive immersion in the more profound beauty of yourself.

The Venue

Quinta Alma It's an ecological retreat farm where you can reconnect with your true nature. It's an organic farm that takes an ecological and human regeneration approach. You will be encouraged to connect with yourself while learning how to live a mindful and meaningful Yogic lifestyle that is in harmony with both nature and yourself.
The location is in the south of Portugal, near Aljezur, in the Algarve region. Faro Airport is 1-hour driving away, and Lisbon Airport is a 3-hour journey.

The Practice

Practice will take place both within the lovely wooden Shala and outside on the gorgeous desk. Savasana can also be practiced outside, and afternoon workshops and Q&A sessions are occasionally held outside. Pack warm practice clothes for Savasana, afternoons, and early mornings.

The Teacher

The program will be led by Maray Sutti Picq, an experienced Hatha, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga Yoga teacher. Dona Holleman, with whom she studied and practiced for 7 years before successfully completing the beginner, intermediate, and advanced courses, had an enormous influence on her teaching. Maray completed a Master's Degree in Philosophy from Sorbonne University in Paris, where she studied philosophy of science, art, and Indian and Buddhist philosophy. She has been mentoring and teaching students since 2018 and has been practicing and studying yoga since 2001.

The meals

All of the meals are prepared with mindful and sustainable practices, drawing inspiration from Portuguese cuisine. Using local, seasonal, and organic ingredients. Gathering ingredients from the food gardens and the surrounding neighborhood. There is a vegetarian/vegan breakfast buffet with locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. A light brunch is followed by a full dinner at the end of the day. With a tea break between sessions.
