The central theme of our AILP World Congress, to be held in Grenoble (France) on 10 and 11 October 2025, will be ‘Victims of the Crimes of the Churches’, and the question of ‘Solidarity between Freethinkers throughout the world’ will also be on the agenda.
In the current world situation, where industrial war and its monstrosities are wreaking havoc, the gangrene of misery spares no country, repression and emergency laws are often synonymous with common law: what about organised solidarity, the age-old tradition of the Libre pensée?
We are each faced with the consequences of this global situation and those of our own country.
We propose to inform each other of the problems we are each facing in terms of solidarity and to reflect on the opportunity to move towards an international action of Solidarity of Freethinkers throughout the world.
In order to prepare for this part of the congress, if you consider it useful, we suggest that you take stock of the forms in which Freethinker solidarity is exercised in each of our countries and the problems we face.
Rather than drawing up a questionnaire that might be influenced by the concerns of the person who drew it up, we suggest that you draw up a document presenting the situation in your country, the form that the organised solidarity of Freethinkers takes there, and the questions that you would like us to discuss at the congress.
We propose that you send your respective contributions to the congress organisers, who will circulate them to all the AILP associations to enable each of us to develop our thoughts and feed into the discussions at the congress.
We propose the following exchange schedule:
• your contributions should be sent to the President of ESLPF, Xavier Hyvert, xavier.hyvert@orange.fr
• These contributions will then be distributed to everyone in April 2025, so that everyone can feed their thoughts into the Congress in October.
We hope that this approach and method suits you, and thank you for your contributions
