Dear wine lovers,
Although a couple of Greek wine varieties, including Assyrtiko and Xinomavro, regularly win awards, most people are blissfully unaware of how amazing the wines the country produces can be.
We will taste 8 wines made from Agiorgitiko, Assyrtiko, Mavrofilero and Xinomavro grapes, among others, which are, genetically speaking, some of the oldest wine-producing grape varieties in the world and now produce some very high quality wines that can be hard to find outside of Greek restaurants. For those who've already done a few of my Greek wine tastings, almost all of these wines will be new!
The wine will be paired with light Greek food from olives, cheese and cold cuts to flaky pitas at TapaSoif, a Greek wine bar and store downtown near the canal.
The tasting costs 55 euros and is limited to 30 people. Please reserve via Eventbrite.
I hope to see you soon!
Brandon
P.S. Parking in the neighborhood can be difficult. I recommend taking the metro; it's very close to the St. Catherine metro station.
P. P.S. If you like the wines you try, you can order them via me afterwards.
