Dear all,

It has been five years since I organized a Cretan wine tasting, so this June's Cretan wine discovery tour will be long overdue.

Crete is the southernmost of Greece's big islands and has produced quality wines since antiquity. Despite the southern latitude, high hills and mountains allow wine makers to produce excellent wines that are packed with flavor and acidity.

We will taste eight typical Cretan wines, mostly from local grape varieties including Vidiano, Mandilaria and Thrapsathiri. The wine will be paired with plenty of good food.

The tasting costs 65 euros and is limited to the first 30 people who register via Eventbrite.

What is your refund policy?

If you need to cancel for any reason, I offer full refunds up to a couple of days in advance and 50% the day before the event, minus Eventbrite's fee, which is non-refundable. Because I have to pay for the food and wine whether someone participates or not, I can't offer any refunds for no-shows.

Do you offer vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free options?

Brandon Mitchener grew up in the United States and has spent the past 30+ years close to vineyards in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Belgium. A former journalist, he has always loved sharing what he has learned with others.

Brandon received his sommelier diploma in 2015. He has been organizing monthly wine tastings over dinner ever since, introducing hundreds of people to the world's wealth of indigenous grape varieties in the process.
