Who are we ?
The Floating Energy Allyance is a partnership of three leading European energy businesses with the ambition of developing floating offshore wind projects around the Scottish coastline. The partners are BayWa r.e., a leading global renewable energy business with 685 MW of renewable energy projects installed in the UK and 75 employees in Scotland; Elicio, a renewable energy company developing and operating offshore wind farms; and the floating wind technology leader Ideol.
We are now working together to progress a joint bid for the ScotWind leasing round launched by Crown Estate Scotland in June 2020.
Our proposals will include the deployment of Ideol’s ® patented and proven Damping Pool technology. Ideol has demonstrated both in France and Japan that its solution can generate between 85 and 95% of total order value at local level; our partnership is committed to manufacturing our concrete foundations in Scotland, which will open up new opportunities for local suppliers and also create significant levels of employment.
About this event
This event is an early opportunity to learn more about this exciting new partnership and our ambitions to develop floating offshore wind around the Scottish coastline. Whilst delivery will not be until later in the decade we are keen to engage with the supply chain now to make sure that we have identified all potential partners and suppliers as we seek to finalise our submission to Crown Estate Scotland’s ScotWind leasing round.
Who should attend ?
This event is aimed at any suppliers of services or equipment which can contribute to the successful delivery of some of the world’s first commercial-scale floating wind farms.
However, we are particularly keen to engage with suppliers in the following areas:
- Civil engineering and construction including supply of concrete construction elements such as concrete, cement, rebars, post-tensioning, aggregate
- Electrical MV and HV hardware including design, engineering, supply and installation onshore and offshore
- Mooring elements and installation including mooring lines, connectors, auxiliaries, chain, anchors, marine heavy operations including mooring pre-lay, tow out of wind turbines and hook-up
- Steel supply and fabrication for transition piece, secondary steel
- Survey and consultancy services
- Marine operations and offshore maintenance
Attendees will have the opportunity to further explore opportunities to get involved and share feedback after the event by booking an individual meeting. To do so, tick the "Meet The Buyer" box when registering.
