Positive thinking: tricks and treats for your brain with Laetitia Bricout
Description:
Did you know that 80% of our thoughts are negative? We’ve evolved to pay more attention to the risks rather than the opportunities; it’s “natural” in the collective memory of human beings. Thinking positively is an effort! But what happens to your body when you think positively: what are the physiological aspects? And how can we turn negative thinking into positive thinking if it’s a natural behavior?
This is an inspirational and informative talk based on scientific and philosophical research. It will engage the audience with concepts they will be able to apply directly to themselves: i.e. In terms of percentage, how much importance do you give to your emotions/body/thoughts? The science of well-being tells us we’re supposed to find balance, something that we have known for centuries: “mens sana in corpore sano,” "a healthy mind in a healthy body”.
About Laetitia Bricout:
I was born and raised in France, and I would define myself as a humanist. Very curious of different cultures and human beings, I have lived and worked in various countries and I share my life with a Korean-New Zealander; we met on the other side of the planet. We settled in Berlin 3 years ago and in continuing my promising career in marketing and social media management, I was a senior conceptor/copywriter for a big multi-channel network. In 2019, growing professionally but away from my personal values, I decided to use my love for words and stories for human development and well-being instead of brands and products nobody needed, and became a Sophrologist in 2020.
With the discipline of Sophrology being new in Germany, my group of colleagues and I are pioneers who intend to establish it in Germany in the coming years.
Fun fact: My German is still very basic, I’m trying desperately to improve it!
