What is premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) and the most recent natural treatment approaches
About this event
Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is a much more severe form of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). It may affect women of childbearing age.
It’s a severe and chronic medical condition that needs attention and treatment.
Lifestyle changes and sometimes medicines can help manage the symptoms. This condition improves at the start of the follicular phase, i.e. after the start of menstruation.
Characteristics:
• Marked depressed mood
• A marked anxiety and emotional lability
• Decreased interest in daily activities
• Functional impairment (conflicts)
• Inability to function socially
• Hypersomnia or insomnia
• Lethargy, excessive fatigue
• Difficulty concentrating
• Marked mood disorders
The management remains multifactorial, from dietary modifications to lifestyle, from stress management to the balance of nutrients.
Therapy, however, remains complex and essentially based on symptomatic therapy.
However, elements indisputably predominate in this pathogenesis with hormonal imbalances, deficiencies in essential nutrients and disturbances of parameters essential for the synthesis or manufacture of certain neurotransmitters that will be presented.
This workshop aims to help people suffering from this disorder to understand above all the PMDD, the possible causes of these hormonal imbalances and the essential steps to reduce the symptoms of these patients.
• If you have to rethink your appointments, your social life, your job, your relationships, your vacations, your agenda based on a short week or more in a menstrual cycle and which will upset your daily life, your emotions and your body ? You are in the right place
• If you experience cyclical disorders that mainly affect your mood, ranging from irritability to generalized anxiety sometimes associated with an intense depressive syndrome before your period starts and magically subside when your period starts? You are in the right place
Health and paramedical professionals: Training will be offered for the management of PMS and PDD in continuing education (This workshop is nevertheless a good start).
NB: Patients whose condition requires an in-depth consultation may require a general check-up or a visit to there practitioner.
