The Playroom is located at Blue Factory (Passage du Cardinal, 1700 Fribourg). After passing the main entrance to the area, turn right. After 50 meters, you will find a red garage. This is the Playroom.

Venez découvrir la collection d’instruments de musique électronique du smem. Située dans un dépôt à BlueFactory, cette collection unique au monde comprend plus de 5’000 pièces marquant l’histoire des instruments de musique.

Une heure durant, un(e) guide vous dévoilera l’histoire d’instruments ayant fait le son de la musique de la seconde partie du XXème siècle. Vous y verrez des instruments oubliés par l’histoire, d’autres devenus inaccessibles et une quantité d’inventions incroyables.

Si les mots synthèse, analogique ou effets à bande ne vous évoquent rien, ne vous inquiétez pas, cette visite guidée est destinée à un large public et convient à tous les âges. Si au contraire les synthétiseurs n’ont pour vous aucun secret, le collection du smem vous surprendra. Vous aurez également la possibilité d’entendre les sons si particuliers de certains instruments.

Come and discover the smem's collection of electronic musical instruments. Located in a warehouse at BlueFactory, this unique collection of more than 5,000 pieces of musical instrument history is unique in the world.

For one hour, a guide will reveal the history of instruments that made the sound of music from the second half of the 20th century. You will see instruments forgotten by history, others that have become inaccessible and a wealth of incredible inventions.

If the words synthesis, analog or tape effects don't mean anything to you, don't worry, this guided tour is for a wide audience and is suitable for all ages. If, on the other hand, synthesizers have no secrets for you, the smem collection will surprise you. You will also have the opportunity to hear the very special sounds of some instruments.

Entdecken Sie die elektronischen Musikinstrumente des smem. Diese weltweit einzigartige Sammlung liegt in einem Lagerraum der BlueFactory (ehemals Brauerei Cardinal). Sie umfasst mehr als 5000 Synthesizer, Orgeln, Rhythmus- und Effektgeräte, Mischpulte und Aufnahmegeräte.

Während einer Stunde erläutert ein Führer / eine Führerin die Geschichte der elektronischen Musikinstrumente, die den Klang der Musik seit 1960 geprägt haben. Sie sehen zahlreiche bekannte Instrumente, solche, die bereits in Vergessenheit geraten oder kaum mehr zu finden sind und viele unglaubliche Erfindungen.

Falls Ihnen Begriffe wie Synthese, analog oder Bandeffekt nichts sagen, braucht Sie das nicht zu beunruhigen. Die Führungen wenden sich an ein breites Publikum jeden Alters. Oder falls Sie sich mit Synthesizern bestens auskennen, hält die Sammlung noch immer einige Überraschungen bereit.  Sie werden die ausserordentlichen Klänge verschiedener Instrumente hören können.
