Mardi Gras Parades @ Prep 2/26, 2/27, 2/28, 3/2

Parades will roll directly in front of Prep all of the following times:
Wednesday, Feb 26th starting @ 6:30 PM with the Krewe of Druids (16 floats) followed by the Mystic Krewe of Nyx @ 7:00 PM which will toast in front of the school. The Krewe of Nyx, was founded in 2012, is one of the newest Krewe's to parade in New Orleans. It is an all-women's Mardi Gras Krewe, ebracing women of diverse backgrounds. Their signature throw is beautiful hand decorated purses and have aproximately 1,000 riders.
Thursday Feb 27th starting @ 6:30 PM with the Krewe of Muses which will toast in front of the school, followed by Knights of Chaos. Each year, in addition to their year-long philanthropic works, the Muses host a design contest for students in the area. The winner rides as a guest of the krewe and his or her design is turned into a throw cup! In 2013, the Honorary Muse was Ruby Bridges, the first African American child to attend an all white elementary school in the south. Their signature throw is a beautiful hand decorated shoe and have aproximately 1,100 riders.
Friday, February 28th Krewe d'Etat @ 6:30 PM followed by the Krewe of Morpheus. Krewe d'Etat floats (23) adhere to a traditonal style of design that impart Le Krewe d'Etat's satrical theme, which has been voted "Best of Carnival" by critics. The theme is a secret until the day of the parade. The Krewe of Morpheus has more than 500 male and female riders and seeks to give paradegoers an "old-school" parade experience.
Sunday, March 2nd starting @ 11AM the Krewe of Okeanos followed by the Krewe of Mid-City and the Krewe of Thoth. The Krewe of Okeanos is known for its elaborately costumed captain and king. The Krewe of Mid City is the 5th-oldest contnously parading organization. Mid-City has gained a reputation for having themes dedicated to children and for having some of the best bands in Mardi Gras from all over the country. In additon to themes dedicated to children, the Krewe selects a boy and girl from the local Ronald McDonald House to serve as honory King and Queen each year. The Krewe of Thoth includes over 1,200 riders and 40 floats, and has some great throws such as a 3-D cut metalic necklace, 6" stuffed polar bears and a variety of specialized doubloons.
