Is Marseille the new Berlin ? Free City-Tour
This is not your typical city tour.
I’m an architect and artist who’s lived in Berlin, Paris, Montréal, and Yokohama — and I’ll show you Marseille on a completely different level: not just the facades, but the hidden social and creative forces that shape this city.
In this 2 hour walk from Saint-Charles Station to la Plaine, we’ll explore Marseille as a living lab of creativity and hospitality:
- Why has Marseille long been a refuge for newcomers?
- How is gentrification transforming areas like Noailles and La Plaine?
- What do street art, football, and local myths reveal about the city’s identity
- And why do people keep calling it “the new Berlin”?
I’ll mix architecture, urban stories, and anecdotes — from apartments without leases and hand-to-hand rentals, to citizen protests and the anti-gentrification strategy.
👉 This tour is meant to give you a deep look at this city's special identity: it is not sightseeing, but more a social and urban exploration of this wonderful city. Through this I hope to make you see Marseille in whole different way
