Transformez de vieux t-shirts en œuvres d'art recyclées et gardez vos pieds au chaud toute l'année. Lors de cet atelier, vous aurez l'occasion de commencer un tapis tout en apprenant les techniques. Pendant la séance, vous commencerez votre tapis. Compte tenu du temps limité, il est peu probable que vous terminiez le projet, mais vous repartirez avec les connaissances et les compétences nécessaires pour le terminer à votre rythme.

Tout le matériel nécessaire vous sera fourni pendant l'atelier, mais comme le charme du tapis de chiffon réside souvent dans les souvenirs liés aux vieux vêtements, vous êtes invités à apporter vos vieux vêtements que vous souhaitez utiliser. Des boissons chaudes seront servies pendant la séance.

Rag rugging is a traditional craft creating beautiful rugs out of rags. Come and learn how to make a rag rug. Learn the techniques of proddy and hooking and meet a like minded group of people. Turn old t-shirts into recycled works of art with the joy of being able to keep your feet warm for the rest of the year. In this workshop you will have the chance to start a rug while learning the techniques. During the session you will start your rug. Due to the time limitations you are unlikely to complete the project but you will leave with the knowledge and skills to finish at your leisure.
You will learn:
- How to use the equipment
- How to work with hessian (Burlap)
- Materials (selecting and preparing)
- How to design a rag rug
- Both rag rugging techniques (loopy and shaggy)
You will be provided with all the materials you will need during the workshop but as the charm of rag rugging is often in the memories attached to old clothes. You are welcome to bring along any of your old clothing you would like to incorporate.
Hot drinks will be provided during the session.
