Event description

7TH OF NOVEMBER 2017 – 10.00 AM

This is an invitation email extended to you on behalf of the EU-CELAC INNOVACT Platform. The INNOVACT platform would like to invite you to join an info session on INNOVACT in Brussels on the 7th of November at 10.00 AM at Greater Birmingham Conference Center (Greater Birmingham and West Midlands Brussels Office, Floor 6, Avenue d'Auderghem 22-28 Oudergemselaan, B-1040 Brussels).

EU-CELAC Innovact Platform : Innovation to promote Territorial Cohesion (INNOVACT) was launched in April 2017. It is a European Union-Latin America cross-border innovation support project designed to diffuse the EU regional policy experience and good practices in Latin America. The project is aimed to prepare and further develop cooperation between regional authorities and specialised agencies on innovation policy decision making and governance. The EU border areas in the INNOVACT project are Peru-Colombia, Peru-Chile, Ecuador-Colombia, Mexico-Guatemala.

The track-record of your region in successful cross-border cooperation as well as other international cooperation activities with respect to innovation, research and development makes you an obvious choice for cooperation for our project. Please note that different organisations, sometimes from the same border region, are invited to join this event. By joining the info session, you will have the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the project and to discover the opportunities that come with becoming a EU border partner area on the project.

Some of these opportunities include:

  • Promoting the work of your region and your partners in the public and private sector on cross-border cooperation and innovation
  • Identifying new opportunities for your region and Latin American regions to conduct joint projects and investments
  • Exploring business opportunities for regional actors in selected value chains (e.g. agri-food, tourism, fisheries, energy, IT for smart agriculture etc.)
  • Transfering your lessons learned and best practices examples to regions that are eager to learn from their European experience.

To find out more about the project and the opportunities of becoming an EU partner regions, please check out our website.
