*Jean-Pierre Cabestan is Research Director at the CNRS attached to the French Research Institute for East Asia (IFRAE) at INALCO. He was from 2007 to 2021, Professor at the Department of Political Science of the Baptist University of Hong Kong, where he also was a Director for from 2007 to 2018. He is also an Associate Researcher at Asia Centre as well as at the Centre d’Études Français on the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. Appointed Officer of the Academic Palms in 2018, he has been a corresponding member of the French Academy of Overseas Sciences (ASOM) since 2019. Jean-Pierre Cabestan holds a PhD in law (University of Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne, 1988) and has a degree in Chinese (Oriental Languages ​​and Civilizations, University of Paris 7, Jussieu, 1979) and Japanese (undergraduate in oriental languages ​​and civilizations, University of Paris 7, Jussieu 1984).

**Isabelle Feng is a scientific associate at the Perelman Centre for the Philosophy of Law at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Native Chinese, Isabelle holds master degrees in Economy and in French from Wuhan University. She also holds a master degree in French Literature from University of Paris 8 Saint Denis and law degrees from Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and from Paris Dauphine. Her research work mainly focuses on Chinese listed companies’ governance, EU-China relations and US-China issues. She regularly contributes op-ed articles for French newspaper Le Monde and is a contributor to the French political affairs magazine Politique Internationale. In addition to her research work, Isabelle carries out China-related cross-border M&A consultant activity.
