About this Event

Programme en Français sur le site : http://www.likeculture.eu/

For its 25th anniversary, the network LIKE – network of European regions and cities for culture - is setting up a new European meeting for local governments, cultural organisations and researchers.

From October 23rd to 25th 2019, LIKE organizes its Ordinary General Assembly and the first edition of the conference «European Challenges for culture» will be held in Lille (France).

LIKE network’s annual conference is a privileged opportunity for exchanges and debates, focusing on key European topics for the future of the cultural sector.

The conference «European challenges for culture» creates a dialogue between researchers, policy makers and cultural professionals. The crossed views of these cultural stakeholders, fed by their research and evaluation for some, their experiences and practices for others, highlights the issues for future public policies of culture, at the national and local level, and engages a collaborative analysis of the European cultural news.

During the last General Assembly of LIKE, held on 20 and 21 June 2018, a new strategy 2019 > 2021 was adopted. This latter is revisiting our methods of action, to better support our members. Our missions of networking, sharing innovative and successful practices, debating the future of cultural policies and exchanging experiences are thus strengthened. The 2019 Ordinary General Assembly of the network, which will be held on 23 October 2019 from 14:00 to 17:30, will be divided into two parts. First, we will review the year 2019 and the new actions that have been carried out by the network as part of the 2019 > 2021 strategy. Then, we will establish the forecast for the further implementation of the 2019>2021 strategy. All our members have two voting mandates. The free auditors may also attend the General Assembly, without voting rights.
