Take the first step to discovering yourself and your team

Landing a product leadership role is a cause for celebration, but it also means it's time to go into learning mode—you'll need a whole new set of skills to succeed in this new role.

Be prepared to spend much less time doing product work, and more time developing your team, building influential relationships with executives (who are now your peers), communicating decisions with clarity and building an empowered culture while you’re at it.

It’s a transformation in how you work, and it’s not fast or easy. You may feel like you've been given the title and responsibility of a leader, but don't yet have the experience or support you need to be successful.

That’s where coaching comes in

When you take a coaching approach to your leadership, you build sustainable, long-term skills that empower them to make changes in their organisation on a micro and macro scale. Benefits of developing your coaching skills include:

  • Developing engaged and empowered team members who act with autonomy and resilience.
  • Increasing retention rates on your teams, leading to higher performance overall.
  • Guiding your team behaviour to promote increased agility, adaptive thinking, and a growth mindset.
  • Boosting and improving your own personal performance, confidence, and communication skills.

As an accredited executive coach and a product veteran with more than 25 years’ experience, I’ve curated some of the most powerful coaching principles and tools that I’ve used in hundreds of hours of coaching product leaders.

In two hours I will equip you with the practical, essential coaching tools that you can start to put into practise immediately. The course is not just theory. It’s grounded in practical application and includes a chance to practise these skills in real time.

In the MasterClass, we’ll focus on three key areas:

  • What do we mean by “coaching”? We’ll unpack what is the essence of coaching in leadership roles. You’ll walk away with a clear understanding of what coaching involves—and what it doesn’t.
  • How can a coaching approach change your leadership style? Traditional approaches to leadership are more directive, where the leader solves problems for others. Coaching is a type of non-directive leadership, where the leader empowers individuals to solve their own challenges. We’ll explore what this means for your day-to-day work and interactions with your team.
  • What is it about asking questions that makes all the difference? You’ll discover how asking open-ended questions serves as the initial catalyst for transitioning from a directive to a non-directive leadership approach.

By the end of this course, you’ll:

Gain a clear understanding of coaching: You'll have a solid grasp of what coaching truly is (and isn't) in the realm of leadership. Say goodbye to confusion and hello to clarity.

Get comfortable asking open-ended questions: You'll be introduced to how to craft powerful open-ended questions that ignite dialogue, foster growth, and drive innovation within your team.

Enhance your leadership skills: Through practical exercises and real-world examples, you'll be taking the first steps to elevate your leadership abilities, becoming more effective at guiding and empowering your team members.

Receive live feedback and guidance: During a live Q&A session (offered a few weeks after the workshop), you can reflect on your learning, receive personalised feedback, and gain insights tailored to your specific challenges and goals.

Begin to foster a growth mindset: Committing to learning and practising new skills is an important part of embracing a mindset of continuous improvement, where every interaction becomes an opportunity for learning and development

The ticket price includes:

  • A 2-hour introductory course online
  • Access to presentation materials
  • An invite to a 60-minute live Q&A session a few weeks later, giving you the chance to reflect and try things out and receive live feedback or advice.
