Event description

Description

Introduction :

In this upcoming event we will debate some recent experiences and insights in the financing of midstream oil and gas projects in the EMEA region as well as recent M&A transactions in the European gas distribution and transmission sectors.

Speakers :

David Cole – Global Head of Energy Project Finance (Managing Director, BNP Paribas)

David was educated at the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology. He began his career in 1982 with National Westminster Bank in the credit department, focusing on Structured Finance. He has been with BNP Paribas since 1994, and in his current position he manages, directs, and coordinates a Global team involved in the identification, origination, development and execution of Project Financing Lending and Advisory activities in the power, oil & gas and industrial sectors

Peter Rawlings – Finance: Infrastructure and Energy (Director, BNP Paribas)

Peter was educated at the University of Cambridge and the University of Queensland. Formerly Vice President with Citigroup Global Capital Markets and an Associate with Allen & Overy LLP, he has 10 years experience in the infrastructure and structured finance sectors with particular focus on energy and utilities. In addition, he has broad experience in infrastructure M&A, project and structured finance working with corporations in advisory and funding. Peter is an active member of the University of Cambridge Alumni Energy Society.

Matthew Job – Partner at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP

Matthew is a partner in the energy finance team at law firm Herbert Smith Freehills LLP. His practice is founded in project finance, but also covers a broad range of alternative financing structures that are used to finance oil and gas projects, including reserve based lending and other borrowing base structures, pre-export finance and other offtake/prepayment structures, inventory finance, bond finance and commodity hedging. His clients include oil and gas companies, banks and trading houses. Matthew is currently advising, for example (i) a mid-sized E&P business on the refinancing of their RBL financing, (ii) a leading bank on a major PXF financing into South America and (iii) a leading trading company on offtake finance structured in both Africa and the former CIS.

The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session where David, Peter and Matthew will answer questions and debate.

Dinner and drinks will be served.
