About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Dressez l’oreille/Listen up showcases a fascinating project involving a group of young people dedicated to combating racism and anti-Semitism.

Following the screening of a documentary chronicling the various stages of the project, the participants – winners of the Ilan Halimi Prize – will discuss their experiences. Guests will then be treated to a series of short videos created by the group, and the evening will wrap up with speeches by local partners, including the AJC.

Who are we?

Founded in 2022, Espoir 18 is a French nonprofit that works to promote the social integration and professional development of young Parisians aged 15 to 25 through sports, culture, academic success and career opportunities. These activities are designed to support young people as they mature and become engaged citizens. Espoir 18 also develops projects that address such societal issues as gender equality, the prevention of radicalization, and the fight against racism and anti-Semitism. On July 8, it will be partnering with La Maison Française on an event exploring on this theme.

In 2025, President Emmanuel Macron presented Espoir 18 with the Ilan Halimi Award for their project “Lend an Ear, We’re Talking About You.”
