COP25 Interfaith Dialogue on Hope and Action - MADRID
Event Information
About this Event
The COP25 will be a crucial moment for governments to finalize and adopt the guidelines for an effective implementation of the Paris Agreement. As faith-based organizations, we are aware of the immense threat climate change is imposing on people’s lives, on the effective enjoyment of their rights, especially for those who are in vulnerable situations, and on the ecosystems on which our lives depend. One year after the Interfaith gathering and dialogue in Katowice, Poland, we would like to take this opportunity in Madrid, Spain, to revisit and reinforce together our commitment to fair and effective climate action. We invite all faith-oriented participants of COP25 and other civil society groups to take part in this informal gathering, ensuring a follow up to the COP24 Interfaith Dialogue.
What will we do?
- A panel to prepare for the COP25
- Small-group sharing where participants exchange perspectives and thoughts on different related topics
- A plenary discussion closing up the small-group dialogues
- A time for hope, prayer and reflection sharing
