Abstract:
The issue of how wage policies are set, and minimum wages are regulated across EU Member States has been for long at the core of both national and EU strategies. Since the adoption of Directive 2022/2041 on adequate minimum wages in the EU (the AMWD), the legal framework has significantly changed.
The AMWD is probably the most important piece of legislation in the field of EU social policy in the last two decades. The conference “Adequate Minimum Wages in the EU” will deep dive into the context and interpretation of the AMWD.
Open to all, the conference involves professionals, academics, and students, as well as major stakeholders, to discuss on the AMWD’s systemic impact and its future implementation.
The conference will also be the occasion to present the book edited by L. Ratti, E. Brameshuber and V. Pietrogiovanni, The EU Directive on Adequate Minimum Wages. Context, Commentary and Trajectories (Hart Publishing, 2024).
