European Future Energy Leaders (FEL) Event: Collaboration across FEL networks to Humanise energy

About this event

The next virtual European Future Leaders (FEL) event is taking place on Humanising Energy and Collaboration across FEL networks on Friday 03.12.2021 15:00-16:30h CET.

Join us for a tour across Europe’s FEL network projects about humanising energy.

This week world leaders gathered for COP26 in Glasgow to seek agreement and solutions to deal with the global climate crisis. Meanwhile, the Covid-19 pandemic continues to have severe impacts on human health, the world economy and energy systems, thereby exposing and enhancing existing vulnerabilities and inequalities.

There is really no shortage of challenges. Technologies for accelerating the global energy transition and securing clean, affordable, reliable energy for all are however available and will hopefully see necessary scale-up and roll-out in the coming decade. And what really has emerged is the societal energy agenda, as issues of energy access, equity and affordability have come to the fore prominently. They underline the importance of ‘humansing energy’ and the need to find community-led steps of change tailored to local circumstances.

In this event we want to discuss with you how to humanise energy in your country and kick off collaboration projects across regional FEL networks and FEL-100. Andrew Vickers will introduce the Humanising Energy agenda, followed by break-out sessions to discuss what humanising energy means for you. Followed by an introduction of three collaboration projects you can join on Mentoring, University and School Collaboration by FEL Finland, YEP German and FEL France.

1. Andrew Vickers, Senior advisor communications and engagement at World Energy Council: Introduction of Humanising Energy

2. FEL Projects you can join:

a. Pyry Lehtimäki, FEL Finland: Mentoring

b. Karen Froitzheim, YEP Germany: University Collaboration

c. Maelle Gomez, FEL France: School Collaboration

There will be room for an open exchange and discussion of best practises with members of European FEL networks and FEL-100 members.

The event is hosted by the European Future Energy Leaders (FELs) – a World Energy Council network.

This is a closed event for members of regional FEL networks and FEL-100 members.
