Description de l'événement
Startups and DeepTech – Where are we and where could we be?

À propos de cet événement

The moonshots of the past were mainly driven by governmental initiatives, university research or large multinational R&D. But times are a-changing and we see more and more ambitious projects to tackle big societal problems like the climate crisis been tackled by nimble startups.

But what exactly is the role of startups in this? What are the factors supporting the raise of startups to global challenges and what are some of the remaining barriers?

During our conference on “Startups and DeepTech” we aim at better understanding the role of startups in deeptech. Where is this happening, who are the drivers and main actors, what are the challenges and what is there to come?

To discuss these questions we invited Benjamin Tincq, Founder and CEO of GoodTech Lab. His startup has just published their reports “The frontiers of impact tech” and “Impact tech ecosystem” based on an almost two years research program involving more than 400 interviews of innovators from more than 30 countries on five continents.

We also invited Francesco Volpe, Founder and CEO of Renaissance Fusion, the first stellarator startup in the world. Renaissance Fusion aims at bringing fusion energy out of the labs and onto the grid.

Who should attend:

Everybody who is interested in the future of tech and tech startups. If you want to know what drives moonshots, how to build thriving entrepreneurial ecosystems and what to expect from the next generation of startups, you can join the discussion.

What to expect:

We will discuss various ways science and technology can help reverse climate change while advancing the Global Development Goals. You will get an in-depth analysis of Impact Tech drivers and strategies. Additionally you will hear what the status quo of fusion energy is and why it always seemed 30 years away – but is not any longer.
