Description

Hi and welcome to the second meeting of the Swedish chapter of RGCS!

We participated in the first meeting of the Swedish chapter in Stockholm and have offered the organizers of the Swedish Chapter, Lucia Crevani and Emily Reinhold, to host the second one. We therefore invite you to the second event for the Swedish Chapter taking place on June 11th at Linnaeus University, Campus Växjö, including a visit to one of the Sweden’s first outdoor workplaces at 13.00, https://www.castellum.se/vara-projekt/workout/, and a workshop, possibly at that very workplace is the weather allows it. As part of the workshop, we would like to discuss with those participating which issues/areas we could explore together. For those of you traveling to Växjö, the times of the event should make it possible to arrive and return back to your home city the same day.

Please save the date and let us know if you are tentatively interested and we’ll send you a more precise schedule for the meet-up. Please also forward to other people you think may be interested to join us. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

All the best!
Viktorija and Anna

The Research Group on Collaborative Spaces (RGCS)* has been set up in November 2014. It is an independent network and is focused on work and workplace transformations in the context of the collaborative economy. It is focused on collaborative spaces, in particular coworking spaces (external or corporate), maker spaces, fab labs and hacker spaces. Studies related to RGCS cover the social, political, managerial, digital and spatial dimensions of collaborative spaces and collaborative experiences.

The project is mainly focused on the dynamic of three cities: London, Paris and Montreal. We intend to compare the public policies, business models and everyday activities occuring in local collaborative spaces (new open spaces, co-working spaces, maker spaces, fab labs, etc.). Three chapters have thus been set up in Paris, London and Montreal. Each chapter organizes bi-monthly research seminars and working groups. Events take place at université Paris-Dauphine for RGCS Paris, the King’s College London for RGCS London and McGill University or UQAM for RGCS Montreal.
