Bigger than last year, for another Pixels Festival in Mons!
As usual, this will be the place to meet new professionals, new awesome and fresh creators, and to create synergies. Mons is just out of it's European Capital of Culture year, let's make it Capital of Creativity this february!
As you can see, we go big and international this year, and while the event will still be a one-room convention, the venue will welcome almost twice last year's audience. Pro tip: Bring a lot of business cards.
Without any more suspense, here is a first peek at our line-up for this year.
Creative consultant and Lecturer for multiple companies between Belgium and Switzerland, Cédric is known both for his creative work as for is now-closed blog about marketing and digital strategy, woweffect.be. Cédric is our third Belgian Pick, on a mission to evangelize the crowd at the festival.
Successful entrepreneur, Ahmed created a network of printing professionals around Benelux and France through Flyer.eu. As the digital takes more space in our lives, it's always a pleasure to switch to analog communication, and to be able to "touch" our creations, and who better than a printing professional to share insights about the future of communication supports?
We've been discussing a partnership with Toptal for quite a while now, and in february, we are glad to announce our first speaker panel, with Toptalers from all around the world sharing their experiences as freelancers for global companies through the creative network. Toptal will also share a vision for a new way of collaboration through connections, mentorship, and collaboration. Thierry, our beloved MC, will stimulate the discussion, with your help.
Digital artist since more than a decade, Bram has been selected in 2015 in the Adobe Photoshop Most Creative Visual Artists Under 25 (#ps25under25) list. Currently working as an Experience Designer and Art Director for KBC and Adobe Ambassador, Bram is our first Belgian Pick for this year.
Creative jack of all trades from Bristol (UK), Gavin works as a Senior Designer for Aardman Animations, and between Wallace and Gromit and Shawn the Sheep, you probably have seen something he worked on on TV, but some of you also know him under the name @jamfactory, an alias under which Gavin also explores new possibilities, between films and vinyl toys.
Oh boy are we excited to welcome the two brothers from Barcelona. The Mingarro brothers, Juan and Alejandro combine a fresh and clean style and a lot of humor to create various projects around sound, image stills, and videos. Established in 2006, Brosmind is the fruit of their combined talent.
If you're in the creative or web businesses in Belgium, chances are you already know them under the names Dogstudio and Superbe Interactive. Together, these two creative agencies form a new kind of production company crafting both on and offline experiences, and with more than 20 awards to their credit, Superdog truly – as they like to say – makes good shit.
Our third Belgian Pick works hands-on with famous brands such as Nescafé, Nike, Volkswagen on some of the sexiest videos of this half-decade. This multi-awarded Belgian Film & Creative Director specialized in visual effects also shares is particular observations about today's world through personal projects, music and photography.
Amsterdammer Irene Pereyra and Anton Repponen started the Brooklyn-based design studio "Anton & Irene" in 2014. Recently awarded "New agency of the year" by the NET Awards, they work on small and large scale creative experiences with a straight approach, tackling new challenges on a daily basis. Both designers also share their experience in lectures and speeches all around the world.
Make some noise for our fourth Belgian (and local) Pick, or he will. The Charleroi-based DJ and Producer is well-know for his music and making crowds dance. His futuristic and pop style also shows through the gorilla persona he built. In this session, Greg will talk about personal branding, entrepreneurship as the creator of Black Gizah Records, and how he got heard in the ambient noize.
Born in 2009, Epic is a digital and creative agency from Liège, Belgium. Their founders feel comfortable in a wide variety of disciplines, from web design to mobile apps development, from video editing to augmented reality. That's the kind of company which is known to think outside the box.
This "creative bureau" from Brussels is mixing design and technologies to produce innovative digital content. 1 MD quickly gained notoriety, first at a local level in Belgium, then internationally with clients such as Alpro, Sony Music, Coca-Cola Zero, M6, Activision, Axa,... They have already received many awards for their astonishing works in the web industry, and they will certainly inspire you to do the same.
The event will take place on Thursday, February 25th, 2016 at 10am at the MICX (Mons). Admission is free but tickets are required.
