The TIL Texte-Image-Langage research centre and the MA Multimedia Translation (T2M) team at the University of Burgundy are pleased to invite you to a symposium with the theme "From Games to Gamers: Poachers of the Digital Realms". It will be focused on the reception and appropriation of videogames by gamers. The first day of the symposium will be held in English on Friday 19/11/21 and will involve a mixture of traditional academic presentations, and round table discussions , designed to promote exchage between researchers, game industry practitioners, other professionals involved with gamers and fan culture and, of course, gamers themselves. The event is designed to be accessible to a mixed, cross-disciplinary audience participating both in person and online. It is open to all researchers, practitioners, students and interested members of the public. Like other events organised by our team over the last few years, the symposium aims to bring together perspectives from academic research and professional practice in a range of fields including game studies, localisation studies and intercultural studies, with a combination of conference-style papers and round table discussions. In order to facilitate international exchange, the first day of the event will be held in English.
