This 1st International RGCS Symposium in Paris on December, 16th 2016 about "Work and Workplace Transformations: Between Communities, Doing, and Entrepreneurship" will be a threefold opportunity.
First, it aims at gathering academics and practitioners interested in work and workplace transformations, in particular at the level of collaborative communities and social movements (coworkers, hackers, makers, fab labers…) embodying and conveying them. We are particularly interested in discussing following questions:
* Coworking communities, coworking movements: what’s new for organizations, entrepreneurs and project leaders?
* Collaborative communities and collaborative movements: new muses for management or counter-cultures?
* Makers and maker movements: a new industrial and artistic revolution?
* Collaborative communities, hacktivism and city renewal: towards new civil infrastructures for citizens and consumers?
Second, this symposium will be an opportunity to diffuse and present the final version of RGCS White Paper 2016. It is the result of a collective work between the different RGCS chapters (Paris, London, Montreal, Lyon/Grenoble, Barcelona). The objective of the White Paper is to explore the current state of the art of public policies and corporate strategies related to collaborative communities and spaces and to make propositions for academics, society, policy makers, etc.
Third, the symposium’s objective is to interact in depth with new people and to bring closer the international community that is working on these emerging subject thanks to several interactive social events. There will be for example a night guided tour by the conservateur of the Musée d’Orsay, an interactive Parisian expedition to discover the collaborative landscape of the city, and an artistic exposition of Berlin’s collaborative spaces in the Parisian City Hall.
