Afterwork SPE-EAGE - Sustainability by Design - Afterwork December 2025
Overview
Join us for an informal afterwork dedicated to three complementary perspectives on sustainability—from European chemical regulations to offshore environmental challenges and the human side of global collaboration. This session is designed as an open exchange of experiences rather than a formal conference, offering a relaxed space to learn, discuss, and connect before the Chrismas break.
Speakers
Natalia Quisel (Veolia), Tiphane Andrade Figueira (PUC)
Agenda
1) Sustainability of Chemicals & Materials – What’s Coming from the EU? (Natalia Quisel)
Natalia will share the key messages from the European Commission on the upcoming Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) regulation, following the intensive 2025 workshop held in Ispra. She will walk us through the latest methodological guidance from the Joint Research Centre, the digital toolbox developed within the PARC partnership.
A great opportunity to understand how sustainability expectations for chemicals and materials are evolving in Europe!
2) Environmental Aspects of Produced Water Management in O&G (Tiphane Andrade Figueira)
Tiphane will give an overview of produced water management in the Brazilian oil & gas sector, focusing on environmental considerations, regulatory context, and operational constraints. She will also introduce her current postdoctoral research on bioremediation of produced water from offshore operations—highlighting promising paths toward more sustainable offshore practices.
The talks will be followed by a networking session onsite. In-person event only.
