Medway Council is a unitary authority which serves more than 270,000 residents across the towns of Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham, Rainham and Strood. The authority, which turns 20 next year, is dedicated to delivering high quality services and giving its customers value for money. The council has achieved a lot in two decades to make Medway a place to be proud of, and supporting the people who live there to realise their potential.Medway is proud of its rich heritage and it has a great future. Regeneration has transformed the area, and over the coming years Medway will achieve its vision of becoming a leading waterfront university city of 330,000 people, noted for its revitalised urban centres, and its stunning natural and historic assets, and countryside. Medway is home to four universities and has high speed rail connections to the capital and the continent, making it an even more desirable place to live, work, learn, visit and do business.
